Syllabus

The training programmes offered at Sri Sai ITI follow the NCVT-prescribed Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) curriculum as laid down by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. The curriculum is designed to ensure that trainees acquire both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for competent performance in their chosen trade.

Curriculum Structure

The CTS curriculum for each trade is structured around three core components:

Trade Theory — Covers the foundational principles, concepts, and technical knowledge relevant to the trade. Topics include materials, tools, equipment, safety practices, and trade-specific technical content as prescribed by DGT.
Trade Practical — Hands-on workshop training that develops the practical skills and competencies required to perform trade tasks to industry standards. Practical training is conducted in the institute’s workshops under the supervision of qualified instructors.
Employability Skills — A mandatory component covering communication skills, IT literacy, entrepreneurship awareness, environmental education, and professional work ethics — preparing trainees for the modern workplace.

Duration

Trade courses are of one year or two years duration, depending on the trade, as specified in the NCVT/DGT trade norms. Training is divided into semesters, with periodic assessments conducted throughout the training period.

Assessment & Certification

Trainees are assessed through internal periodic assessments during the training period and the All India Trade Test (AITT) conducted by NCVT at the end of the course. Trainees who successfully pass the AITT are awarded the National Trade Certificate (NTC).
